Before-and-after photographs can help you learn what questions to ask, but a selected gallery is not an outcome dataset and cannot predict an individual result. Begin by naming the procedure category you are actually researching: upper eyelid, lower eyelid, combined eyelid surgery, ptosis repair, brow surgery, or reconstructive work.

Use the SurgeryViz source explorer to keep those categories separate. Open the original gallery rather than relying on a reposted image, and check whether the source states the procedure, timing, adjunct procedures, and other case details. When a fact is not supplied, leave it unknown instead of inferring it from the photograph.

Compare photography before comparing apparent change. Look for consistent camera angle, distance, lighting, head position, expression, makeup, and image quality. A difference in any of those conditions can make a result look larger or smaller than it is.

Look for postoperative timing and remember that swelling, scar maturation, and healing vary. One early photograph and one later photograph are not interchangeable. Ask the treating clinician which recovery stage is shown and what follow-up period is typical for the proposed procedure.

Use several relevant examples to build consultation questions, not to choose a promised result. Ask what is anatomically similar, what is different, which procedures were combined, and which tradeoffs or complications the gallery does not show. SurgeryViz links to category-level sources and does not copy patient photographs.
